Born in the United States, Dan Reynolds studied graphic design in America and Germany before completing the MA Typeface Design course at the University of Reading in 2008. Since 2009, he’s been a part-time academic, and he receiving a doctorate in design history from the Braunschweig University of Art in 2019. Dan entered the type industry through a job at Linotype GmbH in 2004, where he worked for about seven years. Later, he was a freelance copywriter, font developer, and/or type designer for the following fine firms. Between 2018 and 2020, he did all kinds of odd jobs at LucasFonts GmbH in Berlin. Dan is a fierce advocate of Typostammtisch-style meet-ups, having co-founded the first modern Typostammtisch at Offenbach am Main in 2004.
