Rafał Buchner is a Polish type designer, coder, and typographer based in Warsaw. He received his master degree in graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw before completing Type and Media course at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 2018.

Rafał has worked as graphic designer for different magazines and cultural organizations. In 2021 he founded Blast Foundry with Barbara Bigosińska and Diana Ovezea, where he is dedicating himself to making new typefaces, coding, and helping other type foundries with custom tools for their font development workflow.

One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin.
He lay on his armour-like back, and if he lifted his head a little he could see his brown belly, slightly domed and divided by arches into stiff sections.
