Lipi Raval

When her father named her Lipi—meaning script in Hindi—little did he, or anyone else know, she would end up designing typefaces professionally. Her largely TV-less childhood meant that books and words were at the forefront of her imagination and as a student of MIT's Institute of Design, Pune, she developed an interest in illustration, and a curiosity about type design. She graduated in 2013 by completing her final project with ITF and has been working here ever since. Away from her desk Lipi enjoys eating ice cream and dreams of returning to swimming in olympic sized pools.
